Proposed Print Journal CancellationsIn order to proactively manage limited collection funds, the Library is continuing an annual project to cancel the print subscriptions for those journals for which it licenses electronic access. In addition, in response to the continuing budgetary situation, collection managers have identified some uniquely held print titles for consideration for cancellation. The list of proposed serials cancellations is available online at Proposed Cancellation List for Faculty Review. Each title has an interactive button that enables you to send a comment directly to the librarian responsible for that subject area. The list will be available for your review and comments through May 31, 2011. Reducing format duplication, or cancelling a print serial when electronic is available, is one action that the Library is taking to stretch its collections budget as far as possible; it also saves costs on binding materials and staff resources that are required to process the print copies. Your support and feedback are essential in this process. Please contact your liaison librarian or Sharon E. Farb, associate university librarian for collection management and scholarly communication, by email or by telephone at 310.825.1201 if you have any concerns or questions. |
