Public Workstations

Thirty-four public workstations provide access to electronic resources and to the Web. Workstations are located in the Main Reading Room, the Current Journals Reading Room, and the History and Special Collections Reading Room.

College Library Instructional Computing Commons Software Shortcut applications may be accessed by choosing Edit-Create with MS Office and more from the Start menu.

Printing is available at eleven cents per page using a BruinCard or a UCLA Visitor Card. Files can be downloaded to portable drives.

There is a twenty-minute time limit when others are waiting. Food and drink are not permitted at the workstations.

One workstation is configured for users with disabilities. The tabletop moves up and down to accommodate wheelchairs, and the workstation is equipped with JAWS (Job Access With Speech), which converts the computer's actions to synthesized speech, and ZoomText, which magnifies the screen display.
