The Library's Korean collection, which has been acquired actively since 1985, has strengths in history, literature, Christianity, Buddhism and folklore. The Korean collection supports the instructional needs of the Korean studies program in addition to multidisciplinary research. The Korean collection subscribes to all of the major Korean full text databases, newspaper archives, and reference databases. Because of space constraints, not all Korean materials that belong to the East Asian Library are housed in the Library. Over one-third of the collection is being kept in the SRLF (Southern Regional Library Facility). The UCLA Korean collection is a member of Korean Collections Consortium of North America, supported by the Korea Foundation.
