Services Available to the General Public
- Use books and journals in the library
- Reference services at public reference desks
- Use the online Library Catalog
- Use online subscription resources on public computers in the library
- Wireless internet access for personal laptops in many parts of campus
- Self service copying and printing (requires a reusable visitor BruinCard, available from machines in most libraries)
- Document delivery, a fee-based service which will copy journal articles and mail them to you
Services Requiring a Free Access-Only Card
- Use rare books, manuscripts, and other materials in the Department of Special Collections
- Request books and other materials in storage at the SRLF
- Obtaining an Access-Only Card
Services Requiring a Borrowing Card
- Borrow some books (see loan periods)
- Recall materials checked out to others (only available with some borrower cards)
- Obtaining a Borrowing Card
The following services are available only to current UCLA students, faculty, and staff: interlibrary loans (requesting materials from beyond UCLA), off-campus access to online subscription sources, laptop checkout, group study rooms and other reservable spaces.
