Frequently Asked Questions

I was told I must pay a deposit on my order before the work can begin.  Can I pay the deposit via UCLA Library Payments Online?

Yes, UCLA Library Payments Online will automatically calculate the deposit amount of fifty percent of the total quotation invoice you were given.  If you pay the deposit at UCLA Library Payments Online, you can then contact the location where you ordered the work to learn when the job will be completed.  To receive the completed work, pay the final amount due at UCLA Library Payments Online, and the job will be released to you.

If I am a UCLA student and want to pay online, do I pay UCLA Library Payments Online or BruinBill?

Pay only Library Special Collections, Southern Regional Library Facility, and locker rental invoices through UCLA Library Payments Online. Pay Library overdue fines and replacement fees through BruinBill. You cannot pay UCLA Library Document Delivery Service bills online at this time.

I am not a UCLA student. Can I pay my overdue fines and replacement fees online with a credit card or e-check?

UCLA Library Payments Online cannot currently be used to pay these fees. Please make payments to the address on the invoice by check or by providing your credit card information on the form provided.

Why do I need a UCLA logon ID to pay at UCLA Library Payments Online?

This is to protect your personal information. Your unique UCLA logon ID ensures that UCLA Library Payments Online provides your list of invoices only to you.

Is there a service fee for paying via UCLA Library Payments Online?

No, there is currently no fee for this service.

Will I get a receipt for my online payment?

Yes. You will receive an acknowledgement on screen when your payment transaction is complete; print this as your receipt. You will also receive an email notification. If you enter an incorrect email address during your transaction, you will not receive an email notification, and the screen acknowledgement will be your only receipt.

Can I pay multiple invoices at UCLA Library Payments Online?

Yes, but each invoice must be paid as a separate transaction. Once you have paid an invoice online, it will disappear from your list of invoices owing.

What if I want to partially pay an invoice?

The Library’s payment terms are due and payable in full upon receipt of invoice. If for some reason you will not be paying in full, do not use UCLA Library Payments Online for a partial payment. Contact Library Business Services at 310.825.8416 or lbs-billing@library.ucla.edu. Required deposit payments on quotations for large orders are not considered partial payments; you can pay a required deposit on a quotation via UCLA Library Payments Online. Once the order is completed and the final amount is due, that can also be paid at UCLA Library Payments Online.

Can I use a debit card at UCLA Library Payments Online?

No, but you can use an e-check.

What information will I need in order to pay by e-check?

Go to UCLA Library Payments Online for detailed instructions about the required e-check information. Have a paper check available to confirm the bank account and routing information you enter. Some banks use routing coding different from the MICR line on the bottom left of your printed check; if the routing coding on your printed check isn’t accepted by UCLA Library Payments Online or if you have questions about the MICR coding on your check, please contact your bank.

What library services are not payable through UCLA Library Payments Online?

The following services are not currently payable through UCLA Library Payments Online. Pay them according to the instructions on the bill:
Fee-based UCLA Library Document Delivery Service
Hugh and Hazel Darling Law Library services
Intellectual property and copyright licensing fees
Interlibrary loan services provided by the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library and the Charles E. Young Research Library
Library borrower fees and fines
