Teaching and Learning Services is proud to announce the opening of the Inquiry Labs (aka InqLabs), new teaching and learning spaces on the second floor of the historic Powell Library. Fostering inquiry, creativity, and community, InqLabs are designed to promote the development of twenty-first-century research skills, especially through active engagement with cultural heritage materials and digital technologies. From books to bytes, feed your curiosity in the InqLabs!
InqDesk (Second Floor, West Rotunda, Powell Library)
Start your research journey at the InqDesk, where you can ask a question, check out a book, get a map of the libraries, make an appointment for a research consultation, find your way to InqSpace, and much more!
InqSpace (Room 220, Powell Library)
The hub of the InqLabs: a bright, open, flexible space, in which students consult with librarians and trained graduate and undergraduate students (“Inquiry Specialists” or “InqSpecs”) on research assignments, capstone projects, theses, and other analytical and creative endeavors.
InqSpace also offers opportunities for librarians and technologists to work with faculty on assignment and course design. Equipped with configurable tables, comfortable seating, and three library consultation stations, InqSpace allows for small group and project-based work, as well as workshops and presentations. In addition, it includes a maker-space for exhibits and other creative projects.
