Services

Librarians and library staff members can help faculty, students, and staff understand and deal with copyright, publishing, intellectual property, and other related issues. Services include individual consultations, small-group workshops, and in-class presentations on a variety of topics.

Faculty

Assistance is available with modifying author agreements to retain copyright, publishing in the UC eScholarship Repository, using copyrighted material in a publication or instruction, determining fair use or public domain status, creating an online journal, using a position on a journal's editorial board to influence the publisher's policies and pricing, and much more.

Graduate and Undergraduate Students

Graduate and undergraduate students can learn about copyright, intellectual property, and scholarly publishing and how they impact students' studies, research, and teaching. The goal is to help students during their studies at UCLA as well as throughout their future careers.
